Food truck stolen in Sunrise recovered

Non-profit organization's food truck stripped before being found

SUNRISE, Fla. – A food truck stolen from a South Florida non-profit organization has been recovered by the Sunrise Police Department.

Charles Lomax, 47, and Dean Merisier, 38, were arrested on charges of grand theft.

"My Wish for You" founder Joe Zevuloni said he was informed of the recovery of the truck overnight.

"I fell out of bed. I can't thank them enough," Zavuloni said.

The vehicle was stolen Monday morning. Surveillance video captured the truck being hauled away by a black pickup truck. It was hooked onto the back of the truck in a parking lot off of North Nob Hill Road and NW 47th Street.

Police said the food truck was found at a warehouse in Miami Lakes.

But today, it will be back at "My Wish for You" so they can continue their help throughout the community. The organization helps provide meals for children battling cancer and their families.
