PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A small group of South Florida parents kicked off 2021 by welcoming their new children into the world.
In Broward County, the New Year’s babies did not wait long after midnight to say hello.
Baptist Health welcomed its first baby of 2021 at the stroke of midnight.
The healthy baby girl, Salome Ayala Duarte, weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 21 inches.
At Broward Health Coral Springs, the first baby of the new year arrived at 12:04 a.m. and his name is Caleb Joseph Reigh.
He weighed 4 pounds and is 17.7 inches long.
Caleb is receiving care in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
In Hollywood at Memorial Regional Hospital, its first New Year’s baby was born at 12:03 a.m.

The first baby to arrive at Broward Health Medical Center was delivered at 7:20 a.m. and his name is Liam Munoz.
Liam measured 19.5 inches and weighed in at 7 pounds.
He is pictured below with his parents Estrella Orellana and Elvis Munoz.
At North Shore Medical Center in Miami, it was 2:22 a.m. when the first baby of 2021 arrived.
Little Samantha Abigail, pictured below with her mother Elia Funez, weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces.
In Miami-Dade County, the first New Year’s baby arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital at 1:10 a.m.
The little one’s name was not released by the hospital but a photo with her mother can be seen below.
