Police: 12-year-old boy abducted, sexually assaulted, and shot before man forces him out of car in NW Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ Police are searching for the person they say sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy before shooting him.

Police said the boy was walking around 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. Saturday in the Brownsville neighborhood of Northwest Miami-Dade County.

Thatā€™s when authorities said a man pulled up, forced the boy into a vehicle, sexually assaulted him, shot him and then forced him out of the vehicle.

Local 10 News talked to a man who only identified himself as Johnny who said he was on his bike when he heard the boy screaming for help.

ā€œHe was screaming, ā€˜Help someone, help me, please.ā€™ "

In surveillance video, Johnny, who said he didnā€™t have a phone, escorts the bleeding boy to the Foodland Market at Northwest 47th Street and 37th Avenue.

ā€œI bring him to the store so they can call the police for him,ā€ Johnny said. ā€œHe was conscience, then he fell on the sidewalk and said he had been shot.ā€

Surveillance video shows the boy walking up to the corner of Northwest 32nd Avenue and Northwest 47th Street where he can be seen collapsing, bleeding from the head, while a person standing next to him calls 911.

Another bystander later brought the boy a towel and a bottle of water while they waited for law enforcement to arrive.

Eventually Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived and police escorted the boy to a gurney. He can be seen clutching his head in pain in the video.

Rescue workers rushed him to Jackson Memorial Hospitalā€™s Ryder Trauma Center, where at last check, he was in critical condition.

Police describe the suspect as a tall Hispanic man with long curly hair, between the age of 30 and 40 years old.

He was driving a black sedan and was last seen in the area of Northwest 45th Street and 31st Avenue ā€” the area where authorities said the boy was sexually assaulted and shot.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.
