Driver slams into parked cars at Miramar vehicle dealership

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Surveillance video shows a driver swerving off the road on South State Road 7 and crashing into a used car dealership destroying several cars in its path on Sunday.

Workers at the Car Depot of Miramar, just north of County Line Road, spent the day assessing the damage to multiple parked cars.

A full-sized GMC Sierra took the initial brunt of what would turn out to be a chain-reaction crash.

David Bennichay said he quickly found out it was his dealership that got hit.

“The vehicle that was struck is estimated to be about $40,000. It looks completely totaled in my opinion. That’s the car that’s on my lot. It looks like 2 or 3 cars are on the neighbor’s lot.”

The collision also took down a support structure that’s typically used to display cars for sale. Police told Local 10 News that the accident happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday.

Thankfully, the surrounding businesses were closed at the time preventing what could have easily been a much more serious crash.

“It’s an unfortunate situation. Just gotta pick the stuff up and carry on,” Bennichay said.

The driver was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital and was suffering from non, life-threatening injuries.
