‘Bad nightmare’: Hit-and-run crash victim asks for help

WEST PARK, Fla. – Jessica Quinn said the last few months have been like a “bad nightmare.” She was the victim of a hit-and-run crash on Nov. 22. She is asking the public for help. Detectives have yet to arrest the driver.

Quinn set up a GoFundMe page saying she was in the car with her little sister and her mother’s friend on the way to get her car from the impound lot.

“That’s when we were hit by a stolen U-Haul pick-up truck,” Quinn wrote.

The driver fled the crash scene in West Park and her mother’s friend died the next day during surgery.

“I was unconscious for the first two days in the hospital. I fractured both my hips, pelvis, 1 rib, my l4 disc, and 2 fractures to my sternum. I had to have surgery to put plates in my hips and I’m still in a wheelchair right now waiting to start my rehab,” Quinn wrote.

Just before the crash, Quinn said her father had undergone triple bypass surgery, so he hasn’t been able to help her. The medical bills are piling up.

She has a message for the driver: “If you have any compassion whatsoever as a person that you turn yourself in because not only did you take one life, but you changed mine for a long time — possibly forever.”
