12 Cuban migrants make landfall in Florida Keys

MARATHON, Fla. – U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents have taken into custody 12 Cuban migrants who they said made landfall early Tuesday morning in the Florida Keys.

According to authorities, the migrants came ashore in Marathon via a wooden fishing boat.

Local law enforcement officials and Border Patrol agents responded to the scene shortly after to detain the group.

They are expected to be repatriated to Cuba.
