According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Linhardt, a responding deputy spotted Chelsea Joy Bartley, 30, trying to pry open an office front door and detained her.

He then saw a chair blocking the door and blood drops on the floor near the doorway, Linhardt said.

According to Linhardt, the victim, who was inside the office, told the deputy that he and Bartley had an argument when she grabbed a hunting knife and jumped on him, preventing him from moving.

He claimed she then threatened to stab and kill him.

The victim told the deputy that he was able to wrestle Bartley away and push her outside before he locked the front door and called 911.

A motive for the alleged attack is unclear.

Bartley was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and battery.
