PLANTATION, Fla. – Police officers arrested three people, including a convicted “violent felon of special concern,” on drugs and weapons charges on Sunday in Broward County.
A guest at the Plantation Inn Hotel & Lounge decided to call the police after allegedly hearing a man threatening to, “come back with a gun and air this place out!”

Police officers identified the subject of the threat as Kevin Jackson. They found him with two women, Tranell Maynard, 28, and Gwendolyn Clark, 31, in a motel room at 375 N. State Road 7.
Witnesses said Jackson, 53, of Lauderhill, was a regular in the motel room and a woman he said was his girlfriend, Simon Sutherland, had been renting the room since Aug. 28.
When police officers searched the room they found 15.2 grams of fentanyl, cocaine, 20 grams of marijuana, and a firearm stolen out of Hollywood, according to the arrest report.
Jackson, also known as Pee Wee, was accused of an armed robbery on May 20, 2021, and of cocaine possession on April 11, 2021, records show. His probation began on May 2 and it was set to end on May 1, 2030, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.
Records show Jackson, and Maynard are facing charges of armed trafficking in fentanyl, cocaine possession with intent of selling, grand theft of a firearm, two counts of possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, using or displaying a firearm during a felony, probation violation, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
