FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – They’re calling it a “personal fowl.”

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, officials with the Transportation Security Administration said its officers found a gun concealed in an unlikely place: inside a raw, whole chicken.

And, of course, it happened right here in South Florida.

The agency tweeted photos of the find at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Monday afternoon, showing the gun, wrapped in plastic, stuffed inside the baking hen.

“We hate to break it to you, but stuffing a firearm in your holiday bird for travel is just a baste of time,” the agency said.

TSA guidelines state that firearms should be in checked baggage and “unloaded and locked in a hard-sided container”—not poultry.

It’s not clear if the gun was loaded.

Violators can face a civil penalty of up to $13,910 per violation, per person and possible arrest.

Officials didn’t identify the gun’s owner or say whether he or she will face criminal charges.
