Miami-Dade PD: Third arrest made in illegal drag racing crackdown

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police have arrested a third man in connection with an operation cracking down on illegal drag races.

According to authorities, Kevin Sander Tresilus, 22, of North Miami, used social media and “other electronic platforms” to promote numerous “takeover events” in Miami-Dade County and other counties in Florida.

Police said Tresilus has a large social media following and would send addresses and locations for his followers to meet at and participate in races and other illegal activities, “including blocking intersections from public use and emergency vehicle access, so that cars can perform drifting, donuts, and other stunts without interruption.”

Two other men, Micheal D. Trillo, 20, of Miami, and Eric Gotay, 31, of Plantation, were arrested earlier this month.

Police said the group’s actions have led to criminal activity, and in some cases, shootings and vehicle crashes, some of which have been deadly.

Tresilus was arrested was arrested Wednesday at his home and is facing 25 counts of facilitating drag racing on a highway.
