Shots fired at business owner during burglary in West Park

Search for armed burglar remains ongoing

WEST PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is searching for a burglar who broke into a business in West Park early Wednesday morning and then shot at the business owner.

The burglary was reported at 2:08 a.m. near the 5900 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

According to BSO spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis, deputies heard the sound of shots being fired as they arrived.

A perimeter was established and deputies entered the business, where they found the business owner who told them that an unknown male had broken into his property and shot at him.

The victim wasn’t injured.

BSO aviation and K9 units were called to the scene and the area was canvassed, but the armed burglar has not yet been found.
