SUNRISE, Fla. – Police are investigating after a car crashed into the pool of a home in Sunrise Thursday morning.
It happened at a home shortly before noon near the 7100 block of Northwest 22nd Avenue.
According to Sunrise police, the car had a mother, father and 10-month-old baby girl inside of it when it crashed into a fence of the home and went halfway into the pool.
The mother, later identified as Onise Jean Baptiste, told Local 10 News that crash occurred after she lost control of the vehicle, which caused it to barrel into the fence and into the pool.
“I just lost my control and I entered this house,” she said.
Sky 10 flew over the scene where the car was seen on a tow truck.
Baptiste told Local 10 News that her child was her main priority and wanted to make sure that she was OK after the crash.
Malena Sobrino, the owner of the home, said she was sitting inside with her 2-year-old son when the crash occurred.
“It was pretty shocking because I heard the baby inside the car and with the pool and everything,” she said. “I was ready to jump in to save the baby.”
Authorities said all three victims made it out of the pool and were not injured in the crash.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
