MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A U.S. Army parachutist was sent to a nearby trauma center after suffering a “hard landing” at Homestead Air Reserve Base Monday morning, according to officials.
The soldier, part of the U.S. Army Parachute Team, was taking part in a routine jump at around 10:10 a.m., according to a spokesperson for the team.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, medics took the parachutist to Jackson South Medical Center’s Ryder Trauma Center.
Authorities haven’t elaborated on his or her condition.
