BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. ā A Broward County man won big after purchasing a scratch-off ticket from a convenience store, Florida Lottery officials announced Monday.
Jay Wein, of Fort Lauderdale, claimed his $1 million prize from the 500X The Cash scratch-off game this week at the Lotteryās Miami District Office.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.
According to the Florida Lottery, Wein purchased his winning ticket from Smiley Food and Deli, located at 3100 Northeast Ninth St. in his hometown.
The business will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
