BIG COPPITT KEY, Fla. – Deputies arrested a Florida Keys landlord on felony and misdemeanor charges Wednesday night after accusing him of spitting on and threatening a tenant.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in the 400 block of Avenue C on Big Coppitt Key at around 8:15 p.m. after receiving reports of the dispute.

MCSO spokesperson Adam Linhardt said the 73-year-old landlord, Larrie Busloff, spit in the face of a 43-year-old woman who was renting from him, “then reached into a knapsack and threatened to shoot” her.

Linhardt said deputies found a loaded 9mm handgun in Busloff’s bag. A witness corroborated the victim’s story.

Busloff was being held without bond in the Monroe County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery.

He’s set to be arraigned in court on July 11.
