Police said Bell and the victim were in a previous relationship and lived together in the home as a family.

Authorities said Bell returned to his ex-girlfriend’s home located near the 13000 block of Northeast Third Court after he previously “committed an aggravated assault” on the same day and fled the scene.

A few hours later, Bell was observed by the victim knocking violently on the front door and demanding that she let him in, according to the report.

Fearing that Bell would forcefully gain access to her home, the victim opened the door to speak with him, but did not invite him in, police said.

According to investigators, Bell forcefully pushed the door open, knocking her off balance and then shoved her aside while entering her apartment.

Once inside the apartment, Bell ransacked the victim’s bedroom in search of another man that he felt the victim was involved with, authorities said.

After Bell realized that there was no one in the apartment, he then aggressively attacked the victim by punching her in the nose, causing it to bleed, according to police.

Detectives said Bell continued his attack on the victim by pulling parts of her hair out and then proceeded to bite her on the right side of her back and left hand, leaving teeth marks on both locations.

After attacking the victim, Bell then picked up the victim’s house keys from the kitchen counter and then proceeded to walk out of the home, according to the report.

Police said after fearing that Bell would have unauthorized access to her home, the victim attempted to regain possession of her key by snatching it out of Bell’s hand.

After leaving the victim’s apartment, officers were able to locate Bell after he was seen hiding in the northeast corner of a nearby parking lot. He then fled the scene after being told to stop, authorities said.

After multiple attempts to get Bell to stop running, police said they caught up to him and brought him to the ground where he began to clinch his arms beneath his body and resist arrest.

Police said they were able to take Bell into custody after applying a shoulder lock to his left arm.

According to an arrest report, Bell sustained bruises to his face and complained of having pain in his left shoulder.

Police said they transported the victim to Jackson North Medical Center for treatment.

According to jail records, Bell was later transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where he is being held without bond.
