Florida woman turns gas station stop into $1 million prize playing Lottery scratch-off game

MIAMI ā€“ A woman from Collier County hit the jackpot after playing a Florida lottery scratch-off game, Lottery officials announced this week.

Luisana Dorado, 39, of Naples, claimed her $1 million prize Friday after playing the ā€œ$1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacularā€ scratch-off game.

According to Lottery officials, Dorado chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

She purchased the scratch-off ticket from a Circle K gas station in her hometown.

The store will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

ā€œThe $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular, launched in February and features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million,ā€ the Florida Lottery said in a news release. ā€œAdditionally, the scratch-off tickets are filled with more than $1.6 billion in cash prizes. The gameā€™s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.ā€
