Man dead, 2 seriously hurt in Pompano Beach motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist was killed and the driver and passenger of a car were seriously injured in a crash in Pompano Beach Wednesday afternoon, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. (WPLG)

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed and the driver and passenger of a car were seriously injured in a crash in Pompano Beach Wednesday afternoon, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at around 12:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Atlantic Boulevard.

Video from Sky 10 shows the silver sedan and wrecked motorcycle in the eastbound lanes of the road, at a left-turn-only intersection with an access road for a Walmart Supercenter, various fast food restaurants and an industrial area.

BSO spokesperson Claudinne Caro said Pompano Beach Fire Rescue paramedics tried to perform life-saving measures on the biker, but pronounced the man deceased. Medics took the driver and passenger of the car to a local hospital, she said.

Authorities haven’t publicly identified the motorcyclist or said whether they’ve determined who was at fault.

BSO traffic homicide detectives are currently investigating the crash.
