Man arrested for allegedly trying to kill half-brother in Broward

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A 20-year-old man stands accused of trying to kill his half-brother in Broward County.

Jahmil Thomas was at the Broward County main jail on Tuesday facing an attempted first-degree murder charge, inmate records show.

Thomas’s half-brother Anthony Thomas was in a silver Chevrolet Malibu when he was wounded during a shooting on Wednesday in Miramar, police said adding there was also a related pursuit and car crash in the area.

Police officers with a U.S. Marshals task force arrested the Henry D. Perry Education Center student at about 1:10 p.m., on Monday, in the area of Pierce Street and North 20th Avenue in Hollywood, according to the arrest report.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the domestic violence case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
