Lauderhill double shooting leaves man dead, juvenile female injured, police say

Lauderhill police are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and a juvenile female injured Friday night, authorities said.

Police said they received several ShotSpotter notifications around 8:30 p.m. at a home near the 3100 block of Northwest 19th Street at around 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, police said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and a juvenile female who had been shot in the foot. They were both rushed to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.

The man, who was in critical condition later died at the hospital. The female sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition, police said.

Police said they are still searching for a suspect and a motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.
