Shooting in Miami’s Little Haiti area leaves 1 injured, police say

MIAMI – Miami police are investigating a shooting that left one hospitalized in the city’s Little Haiti neighborhood on Wednesday night, authorities said.

It happened just after 6 p.m. near Northeast Second Avenue and 56th Street.

According to Officer Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Authorities said the victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

Police have not identified the victim involved in the shooting and said that no arrests have been made at this time.
