Man accused of robbing, pistol-whipping Little Caesars worker to remain behind bars

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – The man accused in a brutal armed robbery that took place inside a Broward County pizza restaurant went before a judge on Monday.

It all happened inside the Little Caesars Pizza in Pembroke Pines off Taft Street, near Douglas Road, at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, 34-year-old Jake Lemanski stormed into the restaurant wearing all black, gloves and a ski mask covering his face. He then pistol-whipped an employee before taking off with money, police said.

The good news is that employee wasn’t seriously injured.

Police said the suspect then sped off, leading officers on a chase, but it didn’t take long for police to catch him.

The suspect crashed into a median wall near County Line Road and Florida’s Turnpike and was then taken into custody.

A judge decided that Lemanski will remain behind bars with no bond for the time being because this is not his first run-in with the law.
