Miami-Dade man, 28, accused of raping 16-year-old girl at gunpoint

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police arrested a 28-year-old northeast Miami-Dade man Wednesday after accusing him of raping a teenage girl at gunpoint.

According to Miami-Dade police, the victim, a 16-year-old from Boca Raton, told police that she had become acquainted with the suspect, Alexander Escarment, through a mutual friend.

An arrest report states that she agreed to come to Miami-Dade to meet up with Escarment on Dec. 20 after he offered to take her out for a meal.

Police said after ordering Haitian takeout, the pair went to a home, where Escarment fondled the girl and sought sex. The report states that after the girl declined, he ā€œbecame upset and battered her.ā€

Police said ā€œas the victim was crying,ā€ she asked Escarment to take her back to Boca Raton and he agreed.

The report states that on the way to Palm Beach County, Escarment parked his vehicle at an unknown location in Miami-Dade County and pulled out a gun.

He ā€œdemanded the victim to remove her leggings and positioned himself on top of the victim on the passenger seat,ā€ then raped the struggling girl, police said.

Authorities apprehended Escarment Wednesday and said he invoked is right to an attorney.

As of Wednesday evening, he was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of armed sexual battery.
