Courtney Clenney case: OnlyFans model’s notes shed light on turbulent relationship before killing

MIAMI – Exactly two years after authorities say OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney murdered her boyfriend at their Miami high-rise, Local 10 News has obtained cellphone notes entered into evidence that prosecutors will likely use to prove their case.

Police allege that on April 3, 2022, Clenney, now 27, stabbed Christian Obumseli during a heated argument inside their unit at the One Paraiso building in Edgewater; he later died at the hospital.

On Monday, Local 10 News showed body camera video showing the moments after the stabbing. The cellphone notes may provide clues on what happened before that fateful day.

Clenney used her Notes app like a diary of sorts. In the hundreds of notes recovered from her phone are writings of abuse and reminders to stay calm.

Just one day before the stabbing, a note on Clenney’s phone reads, “Gave me a bunch of kisses and said good morning and i love you baby a few times.”

Exactly two months before, another note reads, “But now I’m just f-ing abusive. Why is that? I’m turning into an ugly person and so is he. Maybe its bc of me or MAYBE I’m finally seeing his true colors. He always said he had anger issues, but I don’t think that really matters because there was a good reason.”

Some talk about abuse, like an August 2021 note titled “Words hurt.”

“Stop putting your hands on him out of anger- it releases tension but has long lasting effects on his self esteem looking in the mirror and is not acceptable in any relationship in general,” it reads.

In another note, she wrote, “He hates me for hitting him, thinks my alcohol abuse is pathetic, and I don’t have as many friends as he does.”

Videos released since the stabbing highlight a rocky and abusive relationship, including fights in their building’s elevator and on a trip to Aspen.

Clenney and her legal team say the stabbing was in self-defense, but prosecutors say it was second-degree murder.

Prosecutors will use the contents of Clenney’s phone to help prove their case. They say Clenney was the aggressor and Obumseli is a victim of an abusive and volatile relationship.

Clenney remains held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
