Man pulled from water off Fort Lauderdale Beach, rushed to hospital

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man was rushed to a hospital Monday afternoon after being pulled from the ocean in Fort Lauderdale Beach, authorities confirmed.

The near drowning was reported around 1:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Atlantic Boulevard.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, crews responded to a drowning call after a man was found floating face down in the water.

Authorities said bystanders had removed the man from the water and performed CPR until first responders arrived at the scene.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials confirmed the man went into cardiac arrest and was transported to Holy Cross Hospital.

No other details were immediately released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
