BSO deputies seek help after patrol vehicles struck by gunfire on I-95

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help after they said two of their patrol vehicles were struck by gunfire late Wednesday night on Interstate 95.

According to BSO Public Information Officer Carey Codd, deputies were driving northbound on I-95 near Sheridan Street when they each felt something strike their marked patrol vehicles, hitting the windshields just after 11:30 p.m.

Upon inspection, deputies said they discovered a single gunshot had struck the front windshield of each vehicle.

Codd confirmed Thursday that neither deputy was injured in the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information or video footage from the Hollywood/Dania Beach corridor of I-95 between 11:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. to contact BSO Detective Jennifer Petrofsky at 954-321-4238 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
