LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A 23-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, months after the fatal shooting of a teenager in Broward County.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that they had arrested Jamariel Johnson, 23, of Lauderdale Lakes, in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Decarlo Horton, who is from the same city.

According to BSO spokeswoman Miranda Grossman, the shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on Feb. 25 in the 3700 block of North Pacific Breeze Circle in Lauderdale Lakes.
Grossman said deputies arrived at the scene and found the victim on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.
According to Grossman, detectives eventually identified Johnson as the shooter and discovered that the shooting resulted from an OfferUp exchange involving the sale of a watch.
Johnson was arrested Wednesday on a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm.
As of Thursday morning, he was being held at the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
