Rep. Jared Moskowitz posts that man with rifle, antisemitic manifesto arrested near his home

MARGATE, Fla. – South Florida Congressman Jared Moskowitz reveled in a social media post that police thwarted a potential plot on his life.

In a post on X, the Democratic Representative of Florida District 23 said the day before the election, a former felon was arrested near his home with a rifle, a suppressor and body armor.

Moskowitz also said the suspect had a manifesto with anti Semitic rhetoric, and Moskowitz’s name as a sole target.

Also on Friday, Margate police announced the arrest of John Lapinski on several firearms charges, including possession while being a convicted felon.

Detectives said he may have been planning some type of criminal act, but did not say if it involved Moskowitz.
