On Monday afternoon, Nathaniel “Red” Martin was at the Metrowest Detention Center accused of killing Javares A. Williams on Jan. 13, 2024, records show.

A witness reported hearing Williams “begging for his life” before the early morning shooting near Northwest 209 Terrace and 34 Court, according to a Miami Gardens Police Department report.

The evidence against Martin in the murder included Shot Spotter data, spent bullet casings, a Taurus 709, a CZ P-10C, and recordings of his jail calls, according to the MGPD report.

Miami-Dade County court records showed Circuit Judge William Altfield was presiding over three of Martin’s pending cases.

  • Prosecutors filed an MGPD case on the Fourth of July for second-degree murder.
  • Prosecutors filed a Miami Police Department case on March 8, 2024, a second-degree murder, armed burglary, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

County inmate records showed correctional deputies were holding Martin without bond on the three pending cases.

Inmate records also showed three warrant cases, including two on holds for “another agency” and for the U.S. Marshals Service.
