CUTLER BAY, Fla. — A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office lieutenant was arrested early Tuesday morning following a domestic dispute with his wife at their home in Cutler Bay, authorities said.
According to an arrest report from MDSO, Brian Pfeiffer, 50, and his wife, who have one child in common, were involved in a verbal dispute overnight inside their home when Pfeiffer became enraged.
Deputies said he grabbed his wife’s wrist, “forcibly ripped” her cellphone from her hand, and then continued to argue with her before placing her phone on the kitchen counter and leaving their home.
According to the report, Pfeiffer returned home during the investigation and was detained.
He was transported to the MDSO Robbery Bureau for a formal interview, where he denied any wrongdoing and “provided a self-serving statement,” the report stated.
Pfeiffer was arrested on a strongarm robbery charge.
MDSO confirmed Pfeiffer is a lieutenant with the agency, who was hired in May 1999.
He is currently relieved of duty with pay.
As of Tuesday morning, Pfeiffer remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed his bond as “to be set.”
MDSO confirmed that another MDSO employee, Deputy Jordan Aristide, was also arrested this week on domestic violence charges after he allegedly attacked his own brother.
“I am disappointed to learn that two of my deputies were arrested in separate domestic related incidents. Our deputies are held to the highest standards, and I expect more responsible behavior!” Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said in a statement. “Domestic violence has no place in our community, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Help is available, you are not alone!”
