DAVIE, Fla. — One person has died following a multi-vehicle crash that occurred during morning rush hour Friday on Florida’s Turnpike in Davie, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.

According to troopers, the crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway on the Interstate 595 overpass.

A Local 10 News crew was in the area as a white vehicle that was heavily damaged was still at the scene, along with a FedEx truck that was also involved in the collision.

Traffic was moving slowly in the area.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.

No other details about the crash were immediately released.
