Hurricanes greeted by fans upon arrival back in Coral Gables following massive Cotton Bowl win

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — There was plenty of excitement on the University of Miami campus Thursday as excited fans who bleed orange and green were pumped to the see their Hurricanes arrive back in town.

The team returned to campus on big buses and with a police escort after taking down Ohio State on Wednesday night in the Cotton Bowl to advance to the College Football Playoff Semifinals.

Some of the Canes players were cowboy hats and boots after the Cotton Bowl victory.

Players know the work is far from over.

They say they’re ready to get back to work.

“It feels like a childhood dream,” said Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney. “It’s a blessing to be able to see your community happy.”

Fans believe this team is strong and focused as they continue to chase a national championship.

Miami will face the winner of Thursday night’s game between Georgia and Ole Miss on Jan. 8.
