The shooting occurred on Oct. 31, 2023 along Northwest 28th Street in Lauderhill.

Police responded after receiving calls of two people shooting at each other.

Upon arrival, officers said they found three people who had been shot: a woman who was lying in the street and pronounced dead shortly after, a man who had been shot in the foot and an underage girl who was grazed by a bullet while in her bedroom.

The deceased victim was later identified as 35-year-old Trecia Spencer Carruthers.

At the time, officers said they were told the shooter took off from the area in a multi-colored truck.
