OPA-LOCKA, Fla. — Newly released video shows the moments a sexual battery suspect was taken into custody.
Opa-locka police released dash camera video from last week’s arrest of Steven Devon Mason Rivers, who is accused of sexually battering a student on campus at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens.
The video shows multiple officers surrounding him before he was taken into custody.

Police say Rivers whistled at an FMU student on the morning of Jan. 25 before jumping a fence, following her onto campus and sexually battering her.
They say while in custody, he also tried to grab a detective’s buttocks.
Rivers, who was arrested Jan. 28, was ordered to stay away from FMU and the victim.
He’s facing several charges, including sexual battery.
As of Tuesday morning, Rivers remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $510,501 bond.
