MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Thursday on accusations that he showed pornographic material to a 16-year-old girl late last year.
The suspect was identified in an arrest report as Orlando Martinez Jr., 39, of southwest Miami-Dade.
Deputies said Martinez is known to the victim, though the nature of their relationship has not been disclosed.
The report states the victim told deputies that while visiting Martinez’s home last November, he had a conversation that was “sexually explicit” and “made her feel uncomfortable.”
Investigators said Martinez also asked her about her sexual encounters with older men, but she refused to answer.
The victim told deputies that on Dec. 29, Martinez picked her up from her home, parked on the side of the road, and kissed her on the mouth, according to the report.
Shortly after, Martinez allegedly showed the victim pornographic videos and photographs of himself engaging in sexual acts with two other females, investigators said.
The victim also told deputies that Martinez showed her pornographic videos of “other men and women engaging in various sexual acts,” the report states.
Deputies said they later located Martinez and transported him to the MDSO’s Special Victims Bureau for questioning before he was arrested and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Jail records show Martinez is facing one count each of distributing or transmitting obscene material to a minor and battery.
He remained at TGK Friday morning, where his bond was set at $2,500.
