POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A fire erupted early Tuesday morning at a multi-unit home in Pompano Beach.
The fire was reported at about 3:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Northwest Fifth Street.
A Local 10 News crew was at the scene later in the morning and saw broken windows and crime scene tape around the home.
Residents said they’re unsure how it started.
Pompano Beach firefighters and an ambulance cleared the scene by 5 a.m.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office then took over the investigation, putting crime scene tape up as they investigated what led up to the blaze.
Residents said they haven’t been allowed back inside and they have many young children now needing assistance.
According to one resident, the Red Cross will be assisting the displaced residents.
It’s unclear whether any injuries were reported.
