MIRAMAR, Fla. — A 29-year-old man is accused of intentionally ramming his wife’s vehicle while she and four children were inside following a domestic dispute, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded Monday to a home near the 6100 block of Southwest 18th Street in Miramar.
During the investigation, deputies determined the incident was connected to a separate domestic dispute involving the same victim and multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Miramar Police Department and the Hollywood Police Department.
According to the report, the victim told deputies she and Romario Martin had been married for two years and share one child. Three additional children who were not related to both parties were also inside the home during the domestic incident.
The victim told deputies she and Martin argued after she called him to ask where he was after he had left the home because their infant son had “spilled water throughout the residence,” according to the report.
The report states that Martin returned to the home and another argument followed, prompting the victim to leave with her infant and the other three children.
Deputies said the victim told them she was driving westbound near the 4000 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard approaching U.S. 441 when she noticed Martin following directly behind her in a 2019 Land Rover Velar.
“The victim then advised the defendant intentionally accelerated toward her vehicle and struck the rear passenger side bumper one time with his vehicle while the victim and the 4 minor children were occupants of the vehicle,” deputies wrote in the report.
According to the report, both the victim and Martin left the scene. Martin was later located and detained by HPD officers near Southwest 63rd Avenue and Pembroke Road.
Deputies said Martin made a confession, but the statement was fully redacted from his publicly released report.
Jail records show Martin is facing 10 counts of aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon, four counts of child abuse without great bodily harm and four additional domestic battery charges.
As of Thursday morning, Martin was being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail and had also been placed on an immigration hold.
