DORAL, Fla. — A Doral security guard is sharing his story of survival after narrowly avoiding being shot while on patrol, saying a bullet passed through his pants but missed his leg.
Jamel Donna said he was conducting a routine patrol in Doral when he saw Lucas Gomez Quintero by his car and Daniel Dominguez inside the vehicle.
“I ran after them and I was able to get a picture of the car,” Donna said.
Donna said Dominguez then fired four rounds at him.
A bullet tore through Donna’s pants, leaving behind a hole that serves as a reminder of how close he came to being seriously injured. Donna said he was hiding behind his golf cart when the shots were fired.
Police arrested Gomez Quintero and Dominguez.
In court, Gomez Quintero was told he was arrested in two cases and is charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure or conveyance. He is also charged with attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
Donna said he was shot at four times and is thankful none of the bullets hit him.
Both suspects are now facing multiple charges.
