MIAMI — On Sunday, Miami detectives were investigating a street shooting after a 32-year-old man was hospitalized with bullet wounds.
Police officers and fire rescue personnel found the man and a red Hyundai that was riddled with bullets at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday in the area of Northwest 58 Street and 12th Avenue in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood.
Miami Fire Rescue personnel took the wounded man — whose condition was serious after he was shot several times — to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, according to police.
A tow truck driver later hauled the damaged four-door Hyundai off the street after police officers seized it as evidence.
There have been other recent shootings nearby. At about 4 a.m. on Friday, in Liberty City, Miami police officers responded to another shooting that left a car riddled with bullets. No one was injured.
In July, in the Gladeview neighborhood, near Liberty City, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies reported that a 12-year-old girl was injured in a car during a shooting in the area of Northwest 64th Street and 21st Avenue.
In February, in Liberty City, a 19-year-old man died at Jackson Memorial Hospital after he was shot near Northwest 51st Street and 13th Avenue.
