MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was critically injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.

Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at about 2:00 p.m. near southwest 173rd Street and 100th Court.

Deputies arriving at the scene said they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said they transported him to Jackson South Medical Center in critical condition.

The subject fled the scene in an unknown direction, according to deputies.

Detectives with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office General Investigations Unit have taken over the investigation.
