Snorkeler in critical condition after being pulled from water in Key Biscayne

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. — First responders rushed to the scene of a reported possible drowning on Sunday.

It happened around 11 a.m. in the area of No Name Harbor inside Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne.

According to authorities, a man was snorkeling before he was found unresponsive in the water.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews took the victim by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where they said he remains in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the near drowning.
