CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A Coral Springs couple is accused of using a 65-year-old woman’s credit cards seven times to make nearly $1,900 in unauthorized purchases, according to two arrest reports obtained by Local 10 News on Friday.
Jail records show Juan Dominguez, 34, and Yamika Poulard, 30, were arrested Thursday by the Coral Springs Police Department.
According to the arrest reports, the alleged credit card use occurred between July 29 and Aug. 10. The victim told investigators that her business credit card had been “compromised” and used 26 times in Coral Springs. She immediately provided investigators with seven transactions totaling $1,894.95 that she said were unauthorized, according to police.
Authorities said the couple allegedly used the victim’s card at a Metro by T-Mobile store in Coral Springs on July 29 and at a Kohl’s department store in Coral Springs the following day.
Coral Springs police said officers witnessed the couple using their phones to make more than $500 worth of clothing purchases at Kohl’s, located at 9001 W. Atlantic Blvd., in the Coral Square Mall.
Investigators said the couple was accompanied by Poulard’s daughter when they allegedly used the card’s tap-to-pay feature at Kohl’s. They said officers saw the couple in an elevator at the store with shopping carts filled with clothing. Surveillance footage also captured the license plate of Poulard’s gray Tesla, according to the report.
The report states that the victim’s card was also used at a Caribbean restaurant in Margate, a Zumiez store in the Coral Square Mall and at a nearby 7-Eleven.
Police said investigators reviewed surveillance footage from Kohl’s and the 7-Eleven and used the footage to help identify and arrest the couple.
Police said they tracked the stolen card to the couple’s neighborhood and verified their identities.
Jail records show Dominguez and Poulard each face one count of grand theft from a person 65 or older, credit card fraud, organized scheme to defraud and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Authorities said the victim told police she wanted to press charges. It was not immediately known whether there were additional victims in the case.
As of Friday morning, Dominguez and Poulard were being held at the Broward County Main Jail. Their bond amounts were not immediately available.
