HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — A 44-year-old South Florida woman is facing multiple charges after an incident with a senior and her dog.

It happened on May 11 in the shared courtyard of a Hallandale Beach apartment complex, the location of which was withheld from arrest forms due to authorities protecting the victim’s identity.

According to Hallandale Beach police, the victim, who is a person 65 or older, was sitting on the bench with another person while their dogs played in the grass when a dog belonging to the suspect, identified as Antonia Yeromina, approached the two other dogs.

The victim later explained to officers what happened was captured on body-worn camera footage that has since been obtained by Local 10 News.

“I was in the back with a neighbor, the dogs were playing nice,” she said in the footage. “This woman came with a dog, and her dog and my dog started fighting.”

And that’s when the arrest report said the situation escalated, as the two women each snatched their dogs to stop the fight, but after it was over, the victim told officers that Yeromina began attacking her.

“She started hitting me on my face on my arms,” the victim said, adding that Yeromina started screaming, “I hate you, I hate you.”

The arrest report stats that after the initial encounter, Yeromina returned and attacked victim a second time, once again striking her on the face.

The person who was sitting with the victim then put themself between the two women, which is when police said Yeromina turned her attention to the victim’s dog.

“Since the defendant could no longer intentionally attack the victim, the defendant maliciously and intentionally kicked the victim’s dog in the belly area as the dog was peacefully laying on the ground, in what appeared to be an angry response to no longer having the ability to continue her attack on the victim,” the arrest report stated.

Despite the incident happening in May, Yeromina was not arrested until Monday.

She is facing two charges of battery on a person 65 years of age or older and a charge of tormenting an animal.

After going before a judge on Tuesday, Yeromina was released on a $15,000 bond and conditions of not contacting the victim, not to return to the incident location and not possessing any animals.
