POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Authorities in Broward County are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrived to the Orion gas station located at 101 E. Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of gunfire.

Responding deputies arrived to find a man who had been shot.

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue rushed the man to Broward Health North for treatment, authorities said.

The gas station has since been blocked off with yellow police tape as investigators processed the scene.

Inside the tape is a white Toyota RAV4 SUV.

Deputies said one person was detained at the scene following the shooting.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
