Miami Gardens police seek information in fatal shooting

Bered Pierre, 38, was innocent bystander, police say

Surveillance photos show the man responsible for the fatal shooting of Bered Pierre, 38, in Miami Gardens.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Gardens police have released surveillance photos that they believe captured the man responsible for the fatal shooting of Bered Pierre, 38. 

Pierre, whom police said was an innocent bystander, was shot and killed Monday, and police hope the newly released video will lead to the arrest of the shooter.

Investigators said Pierre was working and seated in an assigned company vehicle outside a food store in the 4100 block of Northwest 167th Street when a man began to shoot at two other people who were in the parking lot.

Pierre was struck by an "errant round," police said, and was pronounced dead by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The shooter is described to be about 5 foot 7 inches tall and was last seen wearing camouflage shorts, a red polo-style shirt, a black sully and a camouflage bandana covering his face. The shooter was also seen driving a red Ford Explorer that was last seen traveling northbound just one block east of Northwest 42nd Avenue.
