Chipotle prices are going up as workers cash in on pay raises

That burrito and extra guac on the side will cost you more money next time you visit your neighborhood Chipotle.

This week, the nationwide chain announced a 4-percent raise in menu prices, following a company decision to raise wages for workers to $15 an hour.

In an effort to attract new staff members last month, the company offered a $250 employee referral bonus to current workers and a $750 bonus for candidates that would accept managerial positions at the chain restaurant.

Nationally, Chipotle is not alone. McDonald’s restaurants across the country have been offering hiring bonuses for new workers as high as $400.
