MIAMI - A historic immigration reform bill passed the U.S. Senate with a 68-32 vote, with Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson voting in favor of the bill.
South Floridians now look to the leadership of Florida's Latino Republicans, which includes Rubio and U.S. Rep Mario Diaz Balart, as the debate shifts to the House of Representatives.
Members of the Florida Immigrant Coalition will hold a press conference to share with the community what the Senate vote means.
The coalition said they will be joined by community leaders and faith leaders, such as Bishop Leo Frade from the SE Episcopal Diocese and others.
The conference is currently scheduled to take place Friday at 2 p.m. at Freedom Tower in Downtown Miami.
