Parents allowed to pick up children early

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A Miramar elementary school was evacuated Friday because of a bomb threat.

Broward County school district officials said a bomb threat was made at Sunset Lakes Elementary School.

Local 10 News reporter Neki Mohan, whose daughter attends the school, said the principal received a suspicious message and notified authorities.

The students were moved to the nearby Sunset Lakes Community Center.

Police searched the school but did not find any explosive device.

Parents were later told that they could voluntarily pick up their children early or wait until the end of the school day.
