Louisiana woman living in Keys home for sale arrested

Feliciamae Farrington answers door naked, says she lives there, deputies say

Feliciamae Farrington was found living in a Big Pine Key home that was for sale.

BIG PINE KEY, Fla. – A Louisiana woman was arrested Tuesday after she broke into a vacant home for sale in the Florida Keys and acted as if she lived there, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Feliciamae Farrington, 36, of Harvey, Louisiana, was naked in the living room of the home on Big Pine Key when Deputy Richard Wang arrived and looked in the window, sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

When Wang knocked on the door, Farrington answered, still naked, and claimed to be the owner of the house, Herrin said.

Farrington refused to put her clothes on after Wang asked her to do so, saying that she was allowed to be naked in her own home, Herrin said.

Wang went to the house after the real estate agent called to report someone living in the home without the owner's permission. The owner later confirmed that no one had permission to be inside.

As Wang tried to put handcuffs on Farrington, she fought with him, leading him to call for backup, Herrin said. Other deputies arrived and were able to subdue her.

Farrington faces charges of trespassing, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
