SUNRISE, Fla. – A South Florida woman filed a lawsuit Friday against a man who was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left her critically injured.
Michelle Holguin, 53, is seeking in excess of $15,000 from Adrian Perez, 21, following the July 15 crash that left her in a medically induced coma for several weeks.

Holguin suffered severe head injuries, broken bones and a punctured lung.
Holguin told Local 10 News on Thursday that she doesn't remember the crash and doesn't want to.
"It's rough. It's really rough dealing with it," she said.
Police said Holguin finished her waitress shift at Lester's Diner, took off for home on her bike and was struck from behind by a car.

Police said the driver kept going.
"It hurts that he didn't say 'I'm sorry,'" Holguin said. "I don't know why he did it."
Perez turned himself in to authorities on Aug. 11 after police released surveillance video that shows a man, believed to be Perez, pulling into a gas station after the crash and inspecting damage to his car.
According to an arrest report, Perez texted a friend after the crash and said that he struck a deer with his car.
Police said he then went home and looked online for news stories about the hit-and-run.
The lawsuit demands a jury trial. Holguin is seeking damages for past and future medical expenses related to the crash, and loss of earnings since she has not been able to return to work.
